Today, I’m sharing a beautiful conversation with my friend, Tracy Crossley about overcoming self-sabotage. Tracy’s written a book called Overcoming Insecure Attachment and we’re discussing what it is and how to help yourself if you have tendencies that get in your way from being your best self.
Tracy’s popular weekly mental health podcast, Overcome Insecure Attachment offers listeners a different perspective when it comes to breaking the cycle of unhealthy behaviors that keep them stuck repeating pain-inducing actions on auto-pilot. The podcast addresses folks who want to deal with their emotional baggage and get unstuck, happy, and have a clear mindset.
Tracy mentions: “So we take a deep dive and it’s kind of a long process, but anyways, we take a deep dive and I’ll just wrap it up with, you know, we have to go to the awareness, the feeling and emotionally risky action. And that’s what we have to lead people through. So it’s more of, it’s a linear thing. But it’s not like you can go – okay, I did step one. Now I’ve got to use step two because we deal with emotions and how they live in the body and how to break a pattern this way. And once people can learn how to break a pattern permanently, they can do it anywhere in their life. They can, they can just know, okay, I’ve got to maybe work through this resistance. I have to do it. But once I do, then I can break the pattern.”
