Humane Selling with Sarah Santacroce

Today, I’m interviewing my good friend, Sarah Santacroce. Sarah is a coach and an author, who wrote about Selling Like We’re Human. It is filled with so much good information for those of us coaches, consultants, who regularly sell your products and services to others. Sarah has done a lot of research — she’s worked with her clients to better understand their questions and I love her approach to sales. Sarah’s book is a wonderful resource manual that helps you make better decisions about sales conversations and ensuring they align with your core values and help you build great relationships with your clients. Enjoy.

Sarah shares her insights:

  • – “To really just have a human conversation about what it looks like to work with you, or to participate in this program. And I think that’s what we are maybe forgetting, is that – it really is just a human conversation and it’s not one-directional. It’s like what you said first, it’s like you have to listen first. And then, you just and oftentimes it’s just like, ‘I’m ready to, you know, to work with you. How do we start? How does it work?'”
  • “Yeah, just kind of this transparency takes so much weight off and pressure off the sales calls to really just think I’m – I talked about the serene garden, you know that’s where I envision the sales conversation happening. Just sitting, you know, at a table with two cups of tea and sitting with this other person who is in a very vulnerable place. Let’s not forget that, because they have a problem right they come to you. They’re not there to judge you and judge your price and all of that. Note, they have a problem that they need help for and just having yeah a human conversation…”
  • “Yeah I think it’s really that proud of as well. And the phrase I use is like we both want to sleep well at night. I want to go to bed and feel like in all integrity and say this person paid me a lot of money, but man, you know I really helped them. Maybe not instantly, because as we know, coaching takes time. But in two years, they’re still going to look back and say wow that was great, you know, working with them. And, I’m sure that all your listeners that’s the kind of businesses that they want to build as well.”

Over a decade of running a successful LinkedIn Consulting business inspired a yearning in Sarah to create a global movement that encourages people to bring more empathy and kindness to business & marketing.

As a ‘Hippie turned Business Coach’, Sarah has written two books, hosts the Humane Marketing podcast, and works with heart-centered entrepreneurs to question their assumptions when it comes to marketing & give them permission to market their business their way, the gentle way!

Sarah shares a fresh perspective and doesn’t shy away from calling things out that no longer work for many of us when it comes to the current marketing model. Her clients sometimes refer to her as ‘the female Seth Godin’.
